Kevin M. Granger, age 48, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2008, at St. Luke’s Medical Center, Milwaukee, WI, following a long and courageous battle with ALS. Kevin was born in Racine on April 17, 1960, son of Thomas J. and Joyce A. (Nee: Remter) Granger.
Kevin was a graduate of Walden High School, “Class of 1978,” and received an associate degree in Civil Engineering at Gateway Technical College. On July 19, 1990, at St. Paul Lutheran Church he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Mary White.
Kevin was employed as a land surveyor with R.A. Smith of Brookfield for five years and for the past fifteen years owned and operated Kamm Glass. He was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Caledonia. He enjoyed woodworking, designing and building; but more than anything he treasured time spent at his cottage up north with family and friends. Kevin loved being a family man, was very proud of his children and most recently enjoyed his precious grandchildren. He was loved so much and will be deeply missed.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; his four children, Kim (Eric) Haigh, Dan (Corey) Kasabian, Melanie Granger and Jacob Granger; his four grandchildren, Jayden, Kaitlyn, Marin, and Ethan; his mother, Joyce A. Granger; brother, John (Maureen) Granger; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clarence and Eleanor White; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Randy White, Rick (Sharon) White, Kathy White; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas J. Granger; sister, Lisa Sohr; brother-in-law, Jamie White; and nephew, Paul White.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, December 22, 2008, at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. David Wierschke officiating. Private interment will be held. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 11 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family for an education fund to be established for their children have been suggested.
Kevin’s family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to Tim Zuehlsdorf for his care and friendship these past years.
