Mary J. (Lipari) Rizzo

Surrounded by her loving family, Mary J. Rizzo, age 84, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2010, at Willowcrest Care Center, South Milwaukee, WI. Mary was born in Capo d’ Orlando, Italy, on October 20, 1926, daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (Nee: Catrine) Lipari.

On October 7, 1950, she was united in marriage to Frank J. Rizzo, who preceded her in death, June 7, 2000. Mary had been employed by Western Publishing for ten years and at Heckel’s Restaurant for fifteen years. Mary was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church. She will forever be remembered for her excellent culinary skills as a baker and cook specializing in her world-famous cudutti, petit fours, accordion cakes and bride doll cakes. Mary enjoyed crafts, traveling, knitting, crocheting, gardening and frequent visits to the casinos. More than anything, she treasured time with her family and will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Carmella “Cookie” (Jim) Hyduke of Racine; her grandsons, Jon and Kyle Hyduke; her brothers and sisters, Dominic Lipari, Anthony (Olivia) Lipari, Sarah DeRose, Constance (Glen) Kurhajec, all of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Casper and Carmella Rizzo; sister-in-law, Alberta Lipari; and brother-in-law, Rocco DeRose.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, December 9, 2010, at 11 a.m. at St. Rita Catholic Church, 4339 Douglas Ave., with Rev. Kevin Mullins OSA officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Garden Mausoleum, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m.

Norbert F. Trottier

Norbert F. Trottier, age 86, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2010, at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center. One of eleven children, Norb was born June 10, 1924, in Escanaba, MI.

Norb served as a corporal in the 106th Infantry Division in the United States Army during World War II, and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He married Shirley Mills on June 26, 1948, in Racine and they recently celebrated their 62nd anniversary. Norb was a vocalist with the Les Boeck Dance Band in the late 1940s under the stage name “Pierre,” and then worked as a newsman and announcer at WRJN Radio, and as host of the cable television program “In Racine.”

Norb also was quite active in community service organizations. He was an avid reader, especially of history, and greatly enjoyed crossword puzzles. Norb and Shirley sang in the choir at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. For several years, Norb read to the children at Janes Elementary School.

He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-two years, Shirley; his two daughters and sons-in-law, Terri (David) Swanson of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Gail (Bruce Springsteen) Trottier of Lawrence, Kansas; his brother, Martin (Verla) Trottier of Decatur, IL; brother-in-law, Robert Thompson of Cornell, MI; sisters-in-law, Sally Trottier of Trevor, WI, Sue Mills of Racine, WI; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers and seven sisters.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 11, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 725 High St., with Rev. Susan K. Smith officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the church from 1 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Health Care Network, 904 State St., Racine, WI 53402; Habitat for Humanity or a favorite charity.

Mae Angeline Luxem

Mrs. Mae A. Luxem (nee: Bulgrin), 88, passed away at Becker Shoop Center on Friday, December 3, 2010.

Mae was born in Wisconsin Rapids to the late Paul and Anne (nee: Schemmel) Bulgrin on November 20, 1922. She lived in Racine for most of her life. In Racine, she was united in marriage to Robert J. Luxem on May 1, 1943. He preceded her in death on November 19, 1972.

Mrs. Luxem was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She was employed by Professional Positioners for 10 years, retiring in 1985. She enjoyed golf, but bowling was special to her. She would take all her grandchildren bowling. She was a loving mother and cared much for her family. She was always there for them when she was needed.


Mae is survived by four children, Richard (Barbara) Luxem, James (Susan) Luxem, Becky (John) Venne and Marianne (Sands) Ruffalo; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one brother, Leland (Joan) Bulgrin; her favorite aunt, Alma Cooper; one son-in-law, Tim Petzke; and one sister-in-law, Lorraine Bulgrin. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Louise Petzke; and one brother, Charles Bulgrin.

A funeral ceremony will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 3700 Washington Ave., on Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at noon. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family from 11 a.m. until the time of ceremony. Memorials may be directed to the MACC Fund.

Rosemary M. (Nagler) Klokow

Rosemary M. Klokow, age 88, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at the Hospice House, Pleasant Prairie, WI. Rosemary was born in Beaver Dam, WI, on December 3, 1921, daughter of the late William and Martha (Nee: Glassman) Nagler.

She graduated from St. Peter’s Parochial School in 1936 and from Beaver Dam High School “Class of 1939.” On October 25, 1947, was united in marriage to Ruben Klokow. They shared thirty-one years together before they separated in 1978. In her younger years, Rosemary was employed as a teacher’s aide at Giese School, provided childcare for eighteen different families and also worked at Waxdale. She also spent eighteen years working for the Racine Public Library and retired on January 20, 2000. Rosemary was a devoted member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church for the past 50 years. In her spare time she loved reading, Chicken Soup for the Soul books, a walk in the outdoors or spending time in her garden. Above all, it was time with her family and friends that gave her the most joy. She will be dearly missed.

Left to celebrate her life are her children, Kevin (Betty) Klokow of Racine, Jerry Klokow of Saipan, Kathy (John) Janish of Racine, Jeffrey Klokow of Winona, IL, Karen Jarosz of Union Grove, Jonathan Klokow of Henderson, NV; eight grandchildren, Tiffany (Josh) Baumstark, Melissa Klokow, Karina (Jason) Dey, BJ and Randy Klokow, Amber, Zachary and Benjamin Jarosz; five great-grandchildren, Logan and Peyton Baumstark, Xanthie Salazar, Owen and Claire Dey; sister, Adeline Anderson of Beaver Dam; Godson, David Horton; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Rosemary was also preceded in death by her son, William Carl; son-in-law, Douglas Stryker; and her brother, Bud Nagler.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Edward’s Catholic Church, 1401 Grove Ave., Monday December 6, 2010, at 11:30 a.m., with Rev Richard J. Molter officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home Sunday from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. and Monday at the church from 11 a.m. until time of Mass. Memorials in Rosemary Klokow’s name to the Racine Public Library have been suggested by the family.

Anthony L. Majors

Anthony Lanor Majors, age 50. Passed away December 1, 2010, in St. Paul, MN, where he resided since 1991. Anthony was born to Annie Louise Majors and James Majors Jr. on July 21, 1960, in Racine, WI.

Anthony graduated from Horlick High School in 1978. He worked for American Motors for 17 years, then relocated to Minnesota and became a Nursing Assistant for 12 years. Anthony enjoyed fishing, golf, tennis, movies and, most of all, music. Anthony leaves behind his mother, Annie Louise Majors;  daughter, Lydia Marie Majors; granddaughter,  Brooklyn Ni’Rell Roland; and his significant other of 21 years, Wilma Waldrop. He also leaves behind two sisters, Victoria (Abbott) Carter and Stephanie Robinson; five brothers, David, Marques, Shay, Terrance, Deandre; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends Chevelle, Don, Yog, Jaime, and Ron.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather and grandmother, Rush and Lela Majors of Tennessee; Mrs. Rebecca Nunn of Racine; his father, James Majors Jr.; sisters, Allie Faye and MaryLee; brothers, James Robert, Danny Stanley and Randy; and other aunts and uncles. You will always be missed but never forgotten. Rest in Peace.

The celebration of Anthony’s Home Going will be Friday, December 10, 2010, at 1 p.m. at Wayman AME Church, 424 N. Memorial Dr. Visitation will be held from noon till service time, followed by after pass at the church.

John Kevin Crozier

John Kevin Crozier, 55, passed away at Woodstock Health & Rehabilitation Center on Wednesday, December 1, 2010.

John was born in Racine to John and Audrey (nee: Whitsett) Crozier on June 3, 1955.

John is survived by his children Evan, Candace and Ian; his mother, Audrey; and two sisters, Sharon (Bill) Prowse and Debby (Bill) Crozier-Lannier. He was preceded in death by his father, John L. Crozier.

A memorial ceremony will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park Chapel on Monday, December 6, 2010, at 2 p.m. with Rev. John Fleming officiating. Inurnment will follow. Relatives and friends may meet with the family from 1:30 p.m. until service time.

Gladys Vivian Foster Konsin

Mrs. Gladys Vivian Foster Konsin, 100, passed away at Crest House in South Milwaukee on Wednesday, December 1, 2010. She was born in Jonesburo, Il, Union County, on March 31, 1910, to the late Walter William and Augusta Francis (nee: Davis) Foster. Her birth doctor was Dr. Leander Keith, “Uncle Doc.” She lived in Douglas, IL, and graduated from Douglas High School on May 17, 1929.

She went to Chicago and worked at Sears Roebuck Cosmetic Department until 1933. In 1933, she came to Racine for a one-day visit, had a cup of coffee at Walgreens Drug Store, 201-6th St., and was talked into taking a job in cosmetics. She worked there from 1933-1945. In St. Louis, MO, on March 31, 1945, she was united in marriage to Robert Konsin; he preceded her in death on December 16, 1997. Their first date was on March 31, 1940.

She was president of Ladies Elks Club in 1961-1962. She lived independently until March of 2010 at the home that she and Robert purchased in Racine in the late 1940s.

She is survived by a niece, Mary Ann Konsin; nephews, James Kotke, Mark Foster, Craig Foster, Carroll Wayne Foster; grandniece, Kari Kotke Patton. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Melba Foster Webb, Ivern Foster Keller, Fern Foster Kotke Zacharias; brothers, Lowell Foster and Paul Foster.

Funeral services will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home, 1212 Lathrop Ave., on Saturday, December 4, 2010, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Holly Anderle officiating. Friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery-Hwy 32.

Her niece, Mary Ann, would like to express her gratitude to the concerned staff at Crest House for the loving support they provided.
