William 'Bill' C. Buhler

William “Bill” C. Buhler, age 71, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2011, at Wheaton Franciscan - All Saints Medical Center. Bill was born in Racine, October 11, 1939, son of the late Charles and Jeanette (Nee: McCarthy) Buhler.

On October 6, 1962, at St. Edward Catholic Church he was united in marriage to Nell P. Harrington. Bill served as President and owner of Motor Credit Corporation since 1971. He was a longtime member of Meadowbrook Country Club. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time in northern Wisconsin. More than anything, Bill cherished his family. He will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his loving wife of forty-eight years, Nell; his children, Lynn (Tom) Brandon, Charles J. (Molly) Buhler; his grandchildren, William and Isabelle Buhler; other relatives and many dear friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 20, 2011, at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Private interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until time of service at 6:30 p.m. Memorials to the American Cancer Society have been suggested.

Victor S. Frangopoulos

Victor S. Frangopoulos fell asleep on Saturday, May 14, 2011. On September 11, 1935, he was born to the late Spiros and Sophia Frangopoulos in Aliquippa, PA.

Victor graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering. For twenty-eight years, he was employed and retired from Modine Manufacturing Company. Victor was a member of the Kimissis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church, served on the parish council and worked the Greek Festival. He was a member of Modine’s “20 Year Club.” He enjoyed golfing and received great satisfaction in completing different projects.

Survivors include his wife, Claudette, of forty-five years; three children, Maria (Joe) Rivest, Victor (Patti) Frangopoulos, and Renee (Kent) Haefs; six grandchildren, Gabriella, Matthew, and Nicholas Frangopoulos, Luke, Andrew, and Lauren Haefs; brother, Angelo (Pat) Frangopoulos; sister, Mary (Chris) Mantzavinos; nieces, nephews, Godchildren; cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 20, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the Kimissis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church, 1335 S. Green Bay Road, Hwy 31, with Rev. John Ketchum officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Thursday at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. (Trisagion Service at 7 p.m.). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kimissis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church.

Ann (Houtz) Charnon

Sheboygan, WI -- Ann Charnon, age 98, passed away Saturday morning May 14, 2011, at the Morningside Health Center in Sheboygan, WI. Ann was born in Racine on March 15, 1913, daughter of the late George and Emma (nee: Lawpark) Houtz.

On April 9, 1932, at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Racine, she was united in marriage to Francis J. “Frank” Charnon. Together they shared fifty-nine beautiful years before he passed away on their anniversary, April 9, 1991.

Ann was a longtime devoted member of St. Rita Catholic Church and a former president of their Christian Mothers group. She also was a former member and president of the Secular Order of St. Augustine and St. Monica’s Guild. Ann was an avid gardener and will be best remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her sons, Donald (Sandra) Charnon of Cleveland, WI, Frank Charnon of Mequon, WI; six grandchildren, Donald Jr. (Patricia) Charnon of Oneida, Michael (Lori) Charnon of Manitowoc; Brian (Janna) Charnon of New London, Wendy Charnon of Manitowoc, Richard Charnon of Racine, Jeffrey (Nitta) Charnon of West Bend; two step-grandchildren, Samuel and Stephen Cichon; great-grandchildren, Lystra, Christa, Jacob, Jesse, Mia , Murphy, Trey and Noah Charnon; sister-in-law, Beatrice Houtz of Somers; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband Frank, Ann was also preceded in death by her son, Fr. Allen Charnon O. S. A.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Rita Catholic Church, 4339 Douglas Ave., Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Kevin Mullins OSA officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m.

Eura J. Allen

Eura J. Allen, age 84, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2011, at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center. Eura was born in St. Charles, Kentucky, March 27, 1927, son of the late Sammie H. and Eva Mae (Nee: Cunningham) Allen. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Survivors include his sister, Cathryn Johnson of Milwaukee; his brother, James A. Allen of Chicago; his guardian and friend, Susan Jaimes; nieces, Janice Whitten, Denise Whitten, Janine Cox and Marilyn Jones; other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Charles Allen, Joe Johnson, Emanuel Allen, Cecil Allen, Harmon Allen, Addie Allen-Craig and Paula Allen.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 21, 2011, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Elliott Cohen officiating. Interment with full military honors will be held at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Cemetery, Town of Dover. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m.

Carol Marie Jensen

Mrs. Carol M. Jensen, 85, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare – All Saints on Saturday, May 14, 2011.

Carol was born in Racine to the late Ernest and Regina (nee: Albright) Kluge on November 11, 1925. She lived most of her life in Racine. She was united in marriage to Ralph L. Jensen on August 9, 1947, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Racine.

Carol was an active member of Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church. She headed the Prayer Chain for many years and also enjoyed crafting group. Carol retired as Director of Purchasing with Lincoln Lutheran of Racine. She loved to knit for her family as well as perfect strangers, knitting countless prayer shawls and baby hats. She had a life-long love of music, singing in church choirs and community groups. But most importantly, she loved and enjoyed her family.

Carol will be dearly missed by her husband, Ralph; four children, Mark (Elinor) Jensen, Dale Jensen, Peggy (Frank) Elliott, Heidi (Terry) Sheckles; grandchildren, Rachel Jensen, Shaun Koleske, Erich (Randi) Paselk, Erika Jensen and Nathan Fisko; great-grandchildren, Hailee, Jacob, Jayden and Xander; sister-in-law, Audrey “Boots” LeRoux; special “daughter,” Connie Mallwitz; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A celebration of Carol’s life will be held at Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church, 1700 S. Green Bay Road, on Monday, May 16, 2011, at 7 p.m. with Rev. Kara Baylor officiating. Phillip E. Caswell

Phillip E. Caswell, age 89, passed away Friday May 13, 2011, at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee. Phillip was born in Minneapolis, MN, July 24, 1921, son of the late Arthur and Mildred (nee: Green) Caswell.

During World War II, Phillip proudly served in the U.S. Merchant Marines and the U.S. Navy while stationed in the Pacific Theater. On August 28, 1948, he was united in marriage to the former Jean Mason and they shared sixty-three wonderful years together. Phillip was a loving and devoted husband who said “My hobby is my wife Jean.” He was employed with Rexnord Mfg. from 1949 until his retirement in 1987. Phillip was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Jean; his four children, Barbara Cahall of Racine, Donald Caswell of Seattle, WA, James (Debbie) Caswell of Franklin Park, Judy Caswell of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Christopher Cahall, Ashley (Brian) Frieble, Amber Caswell, Aldo Camarano, Matthew Caswell; great-grandchildren, Ava and Joey Frieble; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Caswell of St. Paul, MN, Darlene Caswell, both of Milwaukee; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Phillip was also preceded in death by his three brothers, his twin Donald, and Clinton and Richard.

Jane Ellen (Jorgensen) Knudsen

Jane Ellen Knudsen, age 66, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, May 12, 2011, at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center. Jane was born in Appleton, WI, on March 3, 1945, daughter of the late John F. and June M. (Nee: Kuehmsted) Jorgensen.

Jane was a 1963 graduate of Washington Park High School and a 1967 graduate of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.

On August 15, 1970, she was united in marriage to Glenn A. Knudsen. Jane enjoyed teaching elementary school students at Racine Unified for thirty-three years. She also spent many years assisting Glenn in running Parkside Produce.

Jane had a zest for life and she and Glenn enjoyed traveling the world. Music concerts and scuba diving were two of Jane’s favorite activities. She was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir.

Jane was especially known among friends for her kind disposition and willingness to give from herself to help others. She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her loving husband of forty years, Glenn; her brother, Jim Jorgensen (Lisa Busby) of Palomar Park, CA; nephews and niece, Scott (Ronit) Jorgensen, Danny Jorgensen, Katie Jorgensen, and Cannon Bonar; other relatives and many dear friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Atonement Lutheran Church with Reverend Denise Mbise officiating. Relatives and friends may meet Tuesday at Atonement Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. until time of service.
