Marie E. (Scheef) Seitz

With her loving family by her side, Marie E. Seitz, age 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, July 31, 2013, at the Hospice House in Racine.  Marie was born in Davenport, Iowa, on March 16, 1929, daughter of the late Lester and Mable (nee: May) Scheef.

Marie was united in marriage to Bruce W. Seitz. After nearly fifty years together, Bruce preceded her in death in July of 1995.  Marie came to Racine in 1946 after receiving employment with AT&T as a training operator. A woman of many great talents and abilities, Marie served as the State president of the PTA (1970), Director of the Model UN Program at UW-Milwaukee (1970-1980),  a  member of the PEO (Professional  Educators Organization),and US State Department Educational Delegation to Cuba (1990), assisted at Clinical Research Services Inc.

Marie was also a longtime devoted member of First Presbyterian Church, where she served as an Elder, teacher and was co-founder of their Music and More program. In her spare time, she enjoyed her travels throughout the world, reading, gardening, curling and her time with friends. She will be best remembered as a loving wife and mother and dear friend, who will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her son, John Seitz of Racine; nephew, Randall (Sandra Pierce) Scheef of Racine; niece, Lori Casselbury of Menominee, MI; brothers, Ray, Dennis and John O’Toole; one grand-nephew and four grand-nieces; good friends, Lorry and John, Yvonne and Gary, Pat, Janet and special friend, Mya; other relatives and friends. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Lester Scheef, mother, Mable O’Toole; her infant daughter, Joan; and her brother, Lloyd (Catherine) Scheef.

Per Marie’s wishes, private funeral services will be held. Memorials to the Health Care Network, Hospice House or American Cancer Society have been suggested.

Leone Muller

Leone Muller, age 88, died on July 30, 2013, at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints. She was born on May 10, 1925, to Nicholas and Martha (nee: Bruce) Muller.

She had worked in the office at Andis Clipper Company until her retirement.  She had been a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Racine and a very active member.

She is survived by her sisters, Alice Hudec and Marie Peil.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Muller; her infant brother, Jean Matthew Muller; and brothers-in-law, Paul Hudec and Glenn Peil.

Private funeral services were held by Rev. Stephen Jennings followed by interment at Mound Cemetery. Direct memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church, 2025 Geneva St, Racine, WI 53402.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nursing staff and Hospice Nurses at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints for all of their care and compassion shown to Leone, and to Dr. Choi and Dr. Brennan and their nurses.

Danny E. Stewart

Surrounded by his loving family, Danny E. Stewart, age 65, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2013, at his residence.  In 1948 Danny was born in Detroit, MI, son of the late Robert and R. Olene (Nee:  Kendall) Stewart Sr.

Danny was a Vietnam veteran who proudly served in the United States Army.  On September 19, 1998, at Lake Tahoe, NV, he was united in marriage to Lisa P. Kwas.  He was employed for many years at Hertz Equipment Rental.  He will be fondly remembered as an avid outdoorsman and fisherman, huge NASCAR fan and talented artist.   More than anything, he cherished time with his family and loved time spent with his sons shooting rockets and flying remote-control planes.  Danny “Daddy-O/ Padre” will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his loving wife, Lisa; his three sons, Lane, Kyle and Aaron; brothers and sisters, Patricia (Mike) Spittler, Michael (Linda) Stewart, Debbie (Ron) Miller; sister-in-law, Linda Stewart; other brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives and many dear friends.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Stewart Jr.

Relatives and friends may meet for a service at the family’s home on Saturday, August 3, 2013, at 2 p.m.

A very special thank you to All Saints Cancer Center, Debbie, Dr. Choi, Tonya, Hanger, Susie Creamcheese, Gizelle, J.C., Anna Banana, and all the wonderful people who helped Danny through his illness.

Margie Lucille (Thompson) Larson

Margie Lucille Larson (nee: Thompson) passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saint's Hospital/Hospice Care, at age 90.  Margie was born on October 7, 1922, in Wittenberg, WI, to John B. Thompson MD and his wife Cora (nee: Fancher ).

Margie was a sensitive soul who loved all the fine arts, mystery, poetry, literature.  She loved to paint in watercolors and oils. Margie’s affinity for animals was deep. She never ignored a creature lost or in need.

Margie was raised by her Aunt Winifred DesMarais (nee: Fancher) and her husband, Frederic, after her Mother’s death.

Margie was preceded in passing by her husband, Leslie Charles Larson, in 1985 (married April 13, 1946); her daughter, Leslie Kathleen Schmidt (nee: Larson), in 2004; and her brother, Rudy L. Thompson, in 2010.

She is survived by her daughter, Coralie Ann  Larson; her  grandsons Aaron John, Bryan Leslie and Kevin Paul; her son-in-law, Paul R. Schmidt; and by her dear sister, Louise Lehman (nee: Thompson), of Las Vegas, Nevada; many  other wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. She is sadly missed, but there is joy in her peace.

William 'Bill' G. Gensler

William G. Gensler, age 75, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 27, 2013. Bill was born in Clintonville, WI, on February 11, 1938, son of the late George and Bernece Gensler.

Bill had a great passion for flying and owned and operated Gensler Aviation. He was fascinated with planes as a child and making a life in aviation was a boyhood dream. He attended Marquette University, worked as a medical technologist at St. Luke's Hospital and then pursued his dream to become a pilot. He operated his business out of Batten International Airport in Racine for more than 40 years. Bill was an experienced pilot with over 40,000 hours of flight time and was well known in the aviation community. As an instructor he built many long-lasting relationships with his students.

Friends describe Bill as a fun, warm, spontaneous people person. He was physically active, taking long walks with his companion dog, Lacey. He thoroughly enjoyed social time with friends, cooking, playing cards or watching football. He enjoyed music from the '40s and '50s.

Survivors include Bill’s four sons, Daniel (Chris) Gensler of Coronado, CA, Jeff Gensler (Suzie Heath) of Deltona, FL, Jim Gensler of Palm Coast, FL, Steve (Margarita) Gensler of Fort Mill, South Carolina; his grandchildren, Brooke Gensler, Lauren Gensler, Justin (Lydah) Denneau, Jamie Gensler, Samantha Gensler, Ashley Manchester, Steven and Benjamin Gensler; his six great-grandchildren, Zaya and Xander, and Cameron, Nahkeem, Nazir, Natasha; and sister, Mary (David) Miller of New Smyrna Beach, FL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 5, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring St., with Rev. Terrance J. Huebner officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. with Mass at 11 a.m.

Ronald F. Theama

Surrounded by his loving family, Ronald F. Theama, age 78, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2013, at his residence.  Ron was born in Racine on November 13, 1934, to Charles and Clara (Pfeiffer) Theama.

He was employed at Progressive Dairy and Racine Lime and Cement.  Ron was a member of Teamsters Local 43, retiring in 1992.  He was united in marriage to Mary Ann Zatko at St. John Nepomuk Church in Racine on November 9, 1957.  He was a member of St. Rita of Cascia Parish.  He enjoyed going to estate sales and was an avid collector and antique dealer for many years, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren at family celebrations.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Ann; his children, Jeanne (Jon) Kirchner, Julie Worman, Jim (Karen) Theama, JoAnn (Pat) Ryan, Jeff (Lisa) Theama and Jerry Theama. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Zach (Marissa) Cmeyla, Alex (Jackie) Kirchner, Colin Kirchner; Lucy, Nathan and Mary Theama; Joshua and Olivia Ryan; Anita, Madalyn, Nick and Drew Theama; brother, Charles Theama; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Ellen and John LaBrasca; and sister-in-law Garnet Theama; along with many loving nieces, nephews and friends.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy; and brothers, Raymond (Marion), Hubert, Lawrence (Mary Ann) and David; sister-in-law Audrey Theama; parents-in-law Joseph and Frances Zatko; and granddaughter Hannah Ryan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Rita Catholic Church, 4339 Douglas Ave., with Rev. Kevin Mullins O.S.A. officiating.  Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Wednesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 10:30 a.m.  Memorials to Racine Catholic Food Pantry and Hospice Alliance have been suggested.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. Mullane, Dr. Ulmer, and all their staff and Hospice Alliance, especially Sue, Heidi and Jolina for their kind and compassionate care of Ron during his illness.

Eugene F. 'Gene' Muraski

Surrounded by his loving family, Eugene F. Muraski, age 84, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2013, at his residence. Eugene was born in Antigo, WI, on November 21, 1928, son of the late Edward and Frances (Nee: Bahr) Muraski.

As a young man, Gene left his home in Antigo and joined the Merchant Marines. For five years, he travelled the world and was employed as a baker and chef. On September 13, 1980, he was united in marriage to Donna Mae Nelson (nee: Gall). Gene was a Realtor, last employed by Wauwatosa Realty. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. In his spare time, Gene enjoyed boating, waterskiing, bingo and his trips to Las Vegas. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his loving wife of thirty-two years, Donna; his children, Kenneth E. Nelson (MariLou Ompad) of Las Vegas, NV, Janet A. (Thomas) Pellizzari of Union Grove, WI; his grandchildren, Reid Michael Pellizzari, Taylor Lynn Pellizzari, and Christine Mary Nelson; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, LaVerne Muraski of Elton, WI, Emily Muraski of Polar, WI, Arlene Londre and Ronald Gall, both of Racine; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Felix, Edward, Frank, John, Joe, Raymond and Theodore Muraski, Verna Vcelak, and Irene Papiese.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1533 Erie St., on Tuesday July 30, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Steve Varghese officiating. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and at the church Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of Mass. Memorials to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Alzheimer’s Foundation or to Hospice Alliance have been suggested.
