
He was employed by Massey Ferguson, Hamilton Beach and retired from Kemen Sausage in Kenosha, after twenty years of service. George loved to golf and also enjoyed bowling and watching sports.
George is survived by his loving wife, Jeanette; and three generations of wonderful nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Beryl Vanderleest and Elsie Friesema. He is further survived by other relatives and many dear friends. George is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Sally (Rich) DeVries, Anne (Christ) Klaus; brothers, Bernard (Betty) Vanderleest, Henry Vanderleest, Philip (Dorothy) Vanderleest; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John G. Friesema, Robert (Pat) Friesema, Clara (Hank) Kramer, Grace (Jim) Navis, Marge Vanderleest; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Garrett and Ada Friesema.
Funeral services will be held at Racine Christian Reformed Church, 900 Illinois St., on Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Douglas Aldrink officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park with full military honors.
There will be a visitation at Sturino Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and at church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
The family has suggested memorials to Racine Christian School Endowment Fund, Crossroads Bible Institute, P.O. Box 900, Grand Rapids, MI, or Bible League International, P.O. Box 28000, Chicago, IL 60628.
