
Surviving are his loving wife of 53 years, Marilyn; 2 sons, Herbert H. Nikolai and Kenneth G. (Michele) Nikolai; 3 grandsons, Christopher Nikolai of Racine, and Jeffrey Nikolai, who is in the U.S. Army stationed in Iraq, and their mother Joan Nikolai, and Michael Nikolai of Racine ; a sister, Jane (George) Shipley of Baltimore, MD; 2 brothers, Eugene (Sue) Nikolai of Cape Coral, FL. Norman (Joan) Nikolai of Oklahoma City, OK; nieces, nephews, other relatives , many dear friends and his faithful companion, Tami. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Harvey and Magdalene Schemel and a nephew, Robert Nikolai.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 6, 2008, 10 a.m. at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, 1903 Green St. Entombment with full military honors will follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet Friday at the funeral home from 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m.. (7 p.m. Prayer Vigil) and on Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. Memorials to St. Luke’s Medical Center Wound Care Center or The Family Readiness Group Leaders of Bull Company, 1st Squadron, 2nd Stryker Calvary Regiment have been suggested
