SUN CITY, ARIZONA - Jean Marie (nee: Engstrom) Tremmel, 85, formerly of Racine, passed away in Sun City on Sunday, August 24, 2008. She was born in Racine on July 31, 1923, the daughter of Carl and Florence (Schwartz) Engstrom. Jean was united in marriage to Alois Joseph Tremmel on August 9, 1941, at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church. She was employed at Mamco, and retired from Toledo Scale Company after many years of service.
Jean is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Alois; two sons, Chuck and Tim Tremmel both of Racine; five grandchildren, Becky, Heidi, Jeff, Chuck and Christina. She is further survived by great-grandchildren other relatives and dear friends.
Jean was preceded in death by a brother, Norman "Bud" Engstrom, and one sister, Patricia Arndt.
Funeral services will be held at the Sturino Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. with Janet M. Ruidl, parish director of St. John’s Nepomuk Catholic Church, officiating. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time. Entombment will be follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the Tremmel family has suggested memorials to one’s favorite charity.
