He was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed basketball and baseball. Junior was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan, especially the cheerleaders. He loved to dance and sing. He loved attending his brother’s softball games and was his #1 fan of anything he accomplished. Servando will forever be remembered for his courage through adversity, his tenacity, his sense of humor and general love of life. Servando, his mother Anna and his brother Michael shared a unique world together and it will truly sadden them to see their “third musketeer” leave this world. He will be dearly missed but forever in our hearts.
Survivors include his loving mother and brother, and best friends, Anna Moreno and Michael DeLaO Moreno, both of Racine; grandmother, Anita DeLaO; aunts and uncles, OJ (Rick) Jackson, John DeLaO, Rosa (John) Mathe, Dinah (David) Heide, Richard (Janet) DeLaO, Alice (Tom Tyre) DeLaO, Joe (Ariel) DeLaO, John (Dolores) Moreno, Victor (Shirley) Moreno, Paul (Mary) Moreno, Santos Moreno, Olivia Villarreal, Roberto Moreno; many dear cousins; other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his father, Junior was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Cosme DeLaO, Juan and Crecencia Moreno.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Edward Catholic Church, 1401 Grove Ave., on Tuesday December 2, 2008, at 6 p.m., with Rev. Allen J. Bratkowski and Rev. Richard J. Molter concelebrating. Private interment will be held. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until time of Mass. Memorials to the family have been suggested.
A special thank you to Junior’s roommate, Tony Sabala, Rhonda Zuck and all the other administrators and staff at Ridgewood Health Care Center, Nancy Joy Goodman and the entire staff at Odyssey Hospice for all their loving and compassionate care and the different ways they touched his life; and last, but certainly not least, his good friend Laura Blaga whose kindness will never be forgotten.
