Patricia J. (Eitel) Severson

After a 5 ½ year battle with cancer, Patricia Jean Severson, age 66, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2009, at home surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Madison, WI, on June 29, 1943, daughter of the late George and Marguerite (Nee: Koenig) Eitel.

On January 14, 1961, she was united in marriage to Gordon D. Severson. Pat was very devoted to her family, friends and four-legged companions. She will be missed dearly.

Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Gordon; three children, Kim (Mark) Wittig, Kerri Severson, Mark (Jessica) Severson; two granddaughters, Samantha and Sarah Geller; brother, Ron (Judy) Eitel; sister, Mary (Tom) O’Hare; sisters-in-law, Elsie Smikrud, June Severson; special friend, Rick Houston; nieces, nephews, other relatives, dear friends, and her faithful companion, Rusty. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary; Aunt Delores Selmo; father and mother-in-law, Edwin and Alta Severson; stepmother, Lillie Severson; sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie (Evertte) Berg, Eugene Severson, Gary Smikrud; and her dear friend, Eunice Houston.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 5, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Ave., with Reverend Ronald Crewe officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Wednesday at the church from 9 until 10:15 a.m. A memorial fund has been set up in the name of Patricia Severson where donations will be made to the American Cancer Society and HOPE Safehouse.
