
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Ruth; four children, Tom (Debbie) Schoene, Steve (Sandy) Schoene, John (Joy) Schoene and Laura (George) Jackson; daughter-in-law, Marla Wiersum; eight grandchildren, Steve Schoene, Eric (Shari) Schoene, Lisa Bauer, Shannon (Brian) Crawford, Stephanie Schoene, Andrew (Elizabeth) Schoene, Logan and Tyler Jackson; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Michael (Eileen) Schoene; sisters, Catherine Jordan and Jacqueline Drummond; brother-in-law, Dr. John Jamieson; sister-in-law, Marian (Richard) Hoffman; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Richard, in 1987.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, September 2, 2009, 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s by the Lake Catholic Church, 7605 Lakeshore Dr., with Reverend Stephen J. Stradinger officiating. Relatives and friends may meet Wednesday at the church at 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. Private interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Memorials to St. Mary’s by the Lake Catholic Church, St. Catherine’s High School, Toys for Tots or Healthcare Network have been suggested.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the caregivers at Ridgewood Care Center.

My deepest sympathy to the entire Schoene family. Although I didn't know Mr Schoene well, I know what a wonderful family he and Mrs Schoene raised. May he rest in eternal peace.
