Arnold Arthur Volz, age 92, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2014. He was born on November 26, 1922, in Oshkosh, WI, the son of the late Harry and Edna (Nee: Ott) Volz. His family relocated to Racine in 1938.
Arnie graduated from Washington Park High School in 1940, where he won the state championship
In wrestling. Following high school he served in the Civilian Conservation Corps and then was drafted into the U.S. Army. He served during WWII as a sergeant in the 75th Infantry Division Machine Gun Unit in the European Arena, including the Battle of the Bulge.
After the war, Arnie spent a year in the hospital due to contracting rheumatic fever. Returning to Racine he worked at Belle City Mfg., Toledo Scale, and retired from Michael’s Machine Shop just short of his 80th birthday.
In 1950, at Holy Communion Lutheran Church, he was united into marriage to the love of his life, Doris Jane Baker.
Arnie will be remembered for his witty sense of humor, his warmth and his generosity.
His love for mankind was witnessed by all who met and knew him. He had a deep and sincere appreciation of nature. He was an avid Packer and Badger fan, but most of all he was a Family Fan who knew how to have Pun. No Pun intended.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 64 years, Doris; his daughter, Cynthia Keating of Bolingbrook, IL; his son, David Volz of Racine; grandson, Benjamin Keating (Anissa) and great-grandson, Laith, all of Reston, VA; granddaughter, Alissa Keating of Bolingbrook, IL; brother, Bob of Phoenix, AZ; sister, Lorraine Wagner of Racine; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Ruth, Freda and Virginia; brother, Norman; and a niece, Sharon.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 12, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Communion Lutheran Church, 2000 W. 6th St., with Reverend Mark Doidge officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Thursday at the funeral home from 4-6 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Holy Communion Lutheran Church have been suggested.

David R. Krekling, age 58, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 2, 2014. David was born in Racine on November 24, 1956.
Survivors include his sons, Justin Krekling and his children, Marlee and Braiden, Miles (Amanda) Krekling and their children, Knox and Kallie; his extended family, Joellyn Rose, Amy Noe, Christine Rose, Samantha Rose, Kennedy Ryan, and Jean Nielsen; and best friend, Madison Campbell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Ronald Krekling.
There will be a visitation at the funeral home for David on Saturday, December 13, 2014 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.

Carol H. (Seher) Francis
Carol H. Francis, age 85, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2014, at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center. Carol was born in Milwaukee, WI, on December 2, 1929, daughter of the late Walter and Hazel Seher.
On June 28, 1952, in Racine, she was united in marriage to John F. Francis. Carol was employed as a Registered Nurse for many years at St. Luke’s Hospital and Lincoln Lutheran of Racine.
She was actively involved in many community organizations including being a life member of St. Luke’s Hospital Auxiliary and Wisconsin Natural Foods Association, charter member of Racine Astronomical Society, member of Racine Yacht Club, Mothers of Twins Club, Racine Homemakers, and the Racine Skill Bank. More than anything, Carol cherished time spent with her family and will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her loving husband, John; her children, Walter (Joan) Francis, Susan Bullard, Sally (Paul) Kiel, Jane (Bernard) Rammer; her five grandchildren, Alex Francis, Brian (Kassandra) Bullard, Pamela Kiel, Jacob and Jackie Rammer; brother-in-law, Orville Huenink; nephew and nieces, David (Louise) Huenink, Pat (Randy) Adams, Cheryl Huenick (Oliver Lindberg); other relatives and many dear friends.

Rose M. (Graceffa) Dacquisto
Surrounded by her loving family, Rose M. Dacquisto, age 97, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2014, at her home. Rose was born in Oglesby, IL, on April 6, 1917, daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Nee: Gaziano) and moved to Racine in 1933.
On September 21, 1940, at St. Joseph Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Fred Dacquisto, who preceded her in death on May 18, 1996. Rose worked for several years at Hamilton Beach and Rainfair Inc. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rose loved to crochet, write poetry, read, solve crossword puzzles and play bingo. Above all, she cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

Alfred (Al) Edgar Bent
Alfred (Al) Edgar Bent, 90, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2014, with his loving family at his side. He was born in Bondville, IL, on March 3, 1924, to parents Harry and Eva (Wilson) Bent.
Al attended Champaign Senior High School, graduating in 1942, and then enlisted in the USAF in 1943.
Al served as a Lieutenant bombardier with the 15th Air Force stationed in Italy during WWII. Wounded on his first mission, he flew seven more missions before being released from active duty, at which time he enlisted in the USAF Reserves, where he attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Al was decorated with the Presidential Citation with two clusters, Purple Heart, European Theatre Ribbon with seven battle stars, and the ribbon for service in the American Theatre of Operations.
After service, Al attended the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. On August 8, 1945, he married the love of his life, Dorothy (Dotti) Helen Cox at the First Methodist Episcopal Church in Champaign, IL. The happy couple was married by Dr. Reverend H. Clifford Northcott, who later became Bishop of the Wisconsin Conference of the United Methodist Church. Al and Dotti celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary in August of this year.
Al was employed by Twin Disc, Inc. for 30 years as an Internal Auditor. While working, he attained his advanced degree as a Certified Internal Auditor. He participated in and was president of the Junior Achievement program sponsored by Twin Disc, and was a member and officer of the company’s 20-year club.
Al was a very active member of the Racine Jaycees, where he held the offices of Treasurer and President. He also served as Treasurer at the Wisconsin state level.
Al was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church of Racine for 62 years. He served as treasurer of the church for 55 years, was a member of the finance committee and administrative board, and served on the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Conference District for seven years. Al was also a member of the Masonic Lodge of Rochelle, IL, and the Shriner’s Club of Racine.
Al enjoyed sports of all kinds. He was an avid golfer and a member and officer of the Ives Grove Tuesday golf league. He also enjoyed bowling with the Twin Disc Bowling league. Al and Dotti traveled extensively in the U.S. and internationally, and celebrated their 60th anniversary in Paris at the Moulin Rouge with their daughters.

Doris I. (Noyes) Duncan
Doris I. Duncan, age 86, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2014, at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center. Doris was born in Racine on December 4, 1927, daughter of the late Ira and Evelyn (Nee: Jensen) Noyes.
Doris was employed for many years at the House of Lem, Labor Center, Meadowbrook Country Club, and retired from Wisconsin Natural Gas in 1986 after twenty-two years of employment.
Her pastimes included knitting, crocheting, crafts, puzzles and volunteering with Toys for Tots. Doris held numerous offices in VFW Post 1391 Ladies Auxiliary and was a lifelong member. She also loved traveling, especially on cruises, and trips to Puerto Rico and Door County. Most of all, she cherished time spent with her family and will be dearly missed.
