Richard F. Fraid

Richard F. Fraid, age 78, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2013, at Kindred Nursing and Rehabilitation, Kenosha, WI.  Richard was born in Racine on May 14, 1934, son of the late Floyd and Grace (Nee:  Putman) Fraid.

Richard was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and on May 15, 1953, at the church he was united in marriage to Nancy E. Braun.  He proudly served in the United States Air Force.  She preceded him in death on February 8, 2003.  He enjoyed volunteering with the Literacy Council and driving for the disabled American Veterans.  He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his children, Catherine (James) LaBumbard of Ajax, Ontario, Canada, and Paul (Nid) Fraid of Racine; his two grandchildren, Natalie and Brandon LaBumbard; brother and sisters, Jerome (Dorothy) Fraid of Franksville, Ellen (Jerry) Carlson of Champaign, IL, Janet Fraid of Racine; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joyce (John) Orlovsky of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1533 Erie St., at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Steve Varghese officiating.  Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:30 a.m.  Memorials to St. Joseph Catholic Church or to one’s favorite charity have been suggested.
