Theodore (Ted) James Weichmann, 84, died on Thursday, September 4, 2014, at Mitchell Manor Assisted Living, in Oak Creek, WI. He was born on May 2, 1930, in Chicago, IL, to Otto and Myrta (nee MacLagan) Weichmann.
On July 31, 1954, he married Marlene Hitzemann. They were married over 60 years. Ted came to Racine in 1964 to work at Harris Metals. He enjoyed watching the Cubs and da Bears, movies, and listening to his records. Ted was well known for movie trivia and took great pride and joy in his time working on Racine’s Fourth of July parade for many years.
He is survived by his wife and his four children: Sharon (Joe) Gentile of Minneapolis, MN, Valarie (George) Langan of Park City, UT, Bruce of Belleville, WI, and Diane (Joe) Brinza of Maple Lake, MN; a sister-in-law, Lois Weichmann in Texas; a brother-in-law, Claude Towne in Arizona; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Charlotte Herdegan and Janeva Towne; and his brother, Carlyle.
A Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at noon. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday from 11 a.m. until time of service. Private interment will be held later. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Alzheimer’s Association or the Harmony Club of Racine have been suggested.
