Joseph was a graduate of William Horlick High School. On January 6, 1940, Joseph married the former Virginia Wellner at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Joseph was employed as a purchasing agent by Racine Hydraulics and Racine Railroad Products. He retired in 1986. He served as president of the Purchasing Agents of Racine. Joseph was a founder and past president of MCU Credit Union. He served over fifty years on the Board of Directors. Joseph was a former member of the Elks Club, Eagles Club, Moose Club, United Commercial Travelers, and also served as Boy Scout Commissioner. He was an active member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church serving on the Parish Council.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Virginia; his children, Judy (Gene) Dunk, Marilyn (Dave) Dargin, Kathy (Cliff) Spear, and Michael Seitz. He is also survived by many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Seitz in 1950.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 15, 2010, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring St., with Rev. William J. Dietzler officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Thursday at the church from 12:30 p.m. until time of Mass at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to one’s favorite charity have been suggested.
