Roland Loren Green, 85, passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2010, at Wheaton Franciscan Hospital/All Saints. He was born in Batavia, NY, on May 7, 1925, to the late Myron and Ruth (nee: Henderson) Green. He lived in Racine for 55 years. He was united in marriage to the former Ada L. Larrabee on Oct. 29, 1960. He was employed at Massey Ferguson for 40 years as an Inventory Control Manager retiring in 1985.
He was a member of the Community Church of the Nazarene where he was a charter member and a board member serving as secretary and Sunday School teacher. He was a longtime member of the NRA. He belonged to various Beagle Clubs. His lifelong hobby was raising and training beagles. He enjoyed hunting; fishing and watching his hounds run a rabbit. Jim was adept at everything that he did, including plumbing, painting, cabinetry, electrical work, roofing, gardening and anything that needed fixing.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Ada L. Green; two sisters-in-law, Alita Green of Batavia, NY, and Grace Green of Clearwater, FL; many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Gerald, Larry and Robert.
In keeping with Jim’s wishes, inurnment will be held at Forest Center Cemetery in Menomonie, WI.
Memorials in memory of Jim to Community Church of the Nazarene have been suggested.
