Robert Castaneda, age 45, passed away Christmas night, Thursday, December 25, 2014, due to a tragic car accident. Robert was born in Racine on August 3, 1969, son of Raul “Rudy” and Rosa (Nee: Sanchez) Castaneda.
Robert attended St. Catherine’s High School and was a graduate of William Horlick High School “Class of 1987.” A huge Dallas Cowboys fan, he loved playing baseball, softball and golfing. Robert was also a huge movie buff who was adept with computers and technology. He will be fondly remembered as a very generous and caring individual, loving son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend to many.
Survivors include his loving family: his parents, Raul “Rudy” and Rosa Castaneda of Racine; brother, Russell (Cyndi) Castaneda and their son, Isaiah; sister, Jane (Larry) Phipps and their children, Nicholas, Curtis James, and Stephanie of Signal Mountain, TN; many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many dear friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at 6 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1100 Erie Street, with Rev. Antony Thomas officiating. Interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday at the church from 3 p.m. until time of Mass at 6:00 p.m.
