Martin J. Kritzcki, age 92, passed away Thursday, October 14, 2010, at the Becker-Shoop Center. Martin was born in Racine, March 10, 1918, son of the late Julius and Stella (Nee: Serbinski) Karecki.
During World War II, Martin proudly served in the United States Army. Martin was a member of VFW Post 1391 and was actively involved with the Racine Disabled American Veterans. He loved selling poppies every year and also enjoyed visiting the Veterans at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center, Milwaukee. He was employed for many years at Modine Manufacturing. Above all he treasured time spent with his family and will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia; his daughter and son-in-law, Denise M. (Richard S.) Parker; two grandchildren, Christopher Jensen and Matthew Jensen; two great-grandchildren, Andrew Jensen and Collin Jensen; sister, Betty Karecki of Racine; cousins and other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ghislaine (Nee: Maurel); his son, René Martin Kritzcki; and sisters, Elsie Karecki and Helen Adamowitz.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 22, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. John D. Aiello officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Becker-Shoop Center Staff for all the wonderful care and love they gave to Marty over the last ten years.
