Diane M. Hernke Hurtubise

Diane M. Hernke Hurtubise, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at St Luke’s Memorial Hospital, Milwaukee. She was born in Milwaukee on November 9, 1936, daughter of the late Leo and Flavia (Nee: Etten) Streit. On June 18, 1998, at Grace Church, New Berlin, Diane was united in marriage to Vernon J. Hurtubise.

Diane was a graduate of Milwaukee Pius High School, “Class of 1954.” She was a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waukesha. She was an avid reader, loved playing cards, enjoyed shopping, but above all cherished time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, Vernon; children, David (Judy) Hernke, Lori (Brian) Pinkalla, Tom Hernke, Barbara (Larry) Mutchie, Susan (Bill) Beckett, Mary (Kevin) Campbell, William Hurtubise (Dean Palmer); grandchildren, Jill Hernke, Eric (Nichole), Christine (Nathan), Janet (Robert), Brian (Claire), Drew, Aliza and Leighton; brothers and sisters, Terry (Lois) Streit, Patricia (Gene) Kubiak, Jim(Janet) Streit, Mary Carney, Judy (Carl) Pliss; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Melvin (Jane) Hurtubise, Carole Kupper; nieces, nephews other relatives and many dear friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, October 26, at 2 p.m. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family at the funeral home on Saturday from noon until time of service at 2 p.m. Memorials to the American Heart Assn. have been suggested by the family.
