Mt. Pleasant – Mrs. Adele R. Lidholm, 76, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, February 24, 2012.
Adele was born in Des Plains, Illinois, to Elmer and Louise (nee: Geigler) Schuppner on September 22, 1935. She spent her life in Racine. On June 30, 1962, she was formally united in marriage to Robert Lidholm.
Adele graduated from Union Grove High School in 1953 and continued her education to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was employed as an assistant registrar of probate court for Racine County. She also worked as a CNA for Mt. Carmel Nursing Home in Milwaukee and at Southern Wisconsin Center in Union Grove for a total of 25 years. She retired in 1998.
Adele loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends. Her hobbies were playing the piano, gardening and traveling. She was a volunteer at the voting polls for Mt. Pleasant and she enjoyed working at estate sales. Adele was raised in the Lutheran faith. In more recent years, she was involved in a women’s Bible study.
Adele will be dearly missed by her children, Kristina (Bob) Ahlborg of Kohler, Norman (Dana) Lidholm of Rochester, Eric Lidholm of Wind Lake and Heidi Held of Ontonagon, Michigan; grandchildren, Michael (Sarah), Taylor, Jessica, Kali, Adrienne and Gavin; brothers, Duane (Judy) and Jerry Schuppner; a special sister, Lovie Hermann and her family, Joyce (Al), Deb (Rodger), Beverly (Larry), Barb (Pete), Mark, Jennifer (Jose) and Shane (Gretchen); and by her beloved Kramer the Cat, “Baby Cakes.” She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Louise; son-in-law, Thomas Held; brother, George Schuppner; and sister-in-law, Lucille Schuppner.
A celebration of Adele’s life will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2012, at West Lawn Memorial Park Chapel at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Gary Hylander officiating. Inurnment will follow. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
