David Signer

David Signer, age 90, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2012, at Lake Terrace, Franklin, WI. David was born in Milwaukee, WI, on January 5, 1922, son of the late John and Margaret (Nee: Schaeffer) Signer.

On June 2, 1945, in Palmyra, WI, he was united in marriage to Jean L. Murdock, who preceded him in death, June 21, 1996. David was employed by Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for many years until his retirement in 1982. An avid golfer and bowler, David was actively involved with the Johnson Park Senior Golf League and Paradise West Senior’s Bowling League. He was a past member of the Charter Life Underwriter’s Association. He was a member of St. Stephen the Martyr Lutheran Church. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Wisler of Littleton, CO, Carol (John) Drover of Muskego, Jill (Dave) Simanek of Racine, Kate (Dan) Wilson of Milwaukee; his five grandchildren, Tim, Mike, Matt, Dan and Carly; his six great-grandchildren, Dylan, Taylor, Mitchell, Josephine, Madeline and Ethan; brother, John (Pearl) Signer of Pewaukee; sisters, Mary (Martin) Baumann of Sun City, AZ, and Elizabeth Trimberger of Hubertus; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret (Bill) Guckleberg of Milwaukee.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 25, at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen the Martyr Lutheran Church, 6101 S 51st St., Greendale, WI 53129. Private interment will be held at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Stephen the Martyr Lutheran Church have been suggested.
