David W. Davies, age 90, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2012, at his residence. David was born in Oconomowoc, WI, on June 26, 1921, son of the late David H. and Anna R. (Nee: Roberts) Davies.
During World War II he served as a Sergeant in the United States Army. On October 17, 1942, he was united in marriage to Betty J. Fergus, who preceded him in death on February 16, 1989. David was president of D.W. Davies Co., Inc. He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. He also was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Racine, served as past president of the Kiwanis Youth Symphony, past president of the Racine Heritage Museum and served on the board of the St. David Society.
Survivors include his children, David J. Davies, Dee dee Davies, both of Racine; his grandchildren, David Joel Davies Jr., Daniel William (Danelle) Davies, all of Racine; great-grandchildren, Larkyn Davies, Skylar and Payton Schultz; brothers, Owen (Dorothy) Davies; sister-in-law, Rosemary Davies of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Davies.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment with full military honors will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Wednesday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m.
