Lyda M. Zinnen, age 60, passed away Friday, April 20, 2012, at the Hospice House, Pleasant Prairie, WI. Lyda was born in Racine on February 8, 1952, daughter of the late Norbert M. and Marie (Nee: Westrich) Zinnen.
In her younger years she was a drummer with the Racine Ambassa “Dears” Drum and Bugle Corps. She was a graduate of Washington Park High School and UW-Parkside with a degree in Business Management. She was employed as an accountant with Western Publishing for over twenty-four years and for the last ten years as a computer IT technician. She was a member of Fellowship of Christian Believers Church. A lover of the outdoors, Lyda enjoyed her time golfing, camping, fishing and walking her dog. She will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Elsebet Zinnen; niece, Kristina Zinnen; great-niece, Dolores Davidson; best friend, Cheryl Johnson; her beloved dog, Cali; other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Zinnen; and nephew, Michael Zinnen.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 28, 2012, at 3:30 p.m. at Fellowship of Christian Believers Church, 703 Washington Ave., with Rev. Paul Yaekel and Rev. Arthur Rader officiating. Interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Kinzie Avenue. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the church from 1:30 p.m. until time of service at 3:30 p.m.
