Jack was employed by S.C. Johnson Wax for thirty-three years, retiring in 1984 at Waxdale as Manager of the warehouse. He was a member of the S.C. Johnson “20-Year Club” and a longstanding member of Meadowbrook Country Club.
Jack enjoyed golf, badminton and baseball. He also enjoyed playing gin rummy and poker with his family and friends. He had a one-of-a- kind dry sense of humor, for which he will long be remembered. He will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Sue; his children, Kathleen (Dennis) Dieckhoff, Elizabeth (Tom) Pero, all of Racine, Nancy Helland (Michael Good) of Shorewood, WI; his two grandchildren, Laura (Jeff) Dose, Mark (Kelsy) Dieckhoff; his great-granddaughter, Ayla Dose; sisters-in-law, Carol Helland, Karolyn Foley, Rose (Peter) Christensen; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Albert (Lucy) Helland, James (Margaret) Helland, and Robert Helland.
Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Friday, June 8, 2012, at the funeral home from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., followed by a Remembering Service at 6:30 p.m. Private interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Health Care Network Inc., 904 State Street, Racine 53404 or to one’s favorite charity have been suggested.
