Lawrence C. Lewandowski, age 73, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2012, at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center. Lawrence was born in Kenosha on May 22, 1939, son of the late John K. and Felicia B. (Nee: Nowacki) Lewandowski.
Lawrence proudly served with the United States Army Signal Corps. On October 20, 1962, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Port Washington he was united in marriage to Rachel L. Heiser. A woodworker at heart, Lawrence made many beautiful handcrafted pieces throughout the years. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his loving wife of fifty years, Rachel; his children, Andrea (David) Schimian of Kenosha, Curtis Lewandowski of Burlington; his grandchildren, Bradley and Ellen Schimian; brother, Ken (Pat) Lewandowski of Gig Harbor, WA; sister, Marilyn (Tony) Rothweiler of Franklin; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Paul (Mary) Dickmann, Marie (Jack) Lemke, all of West Bend, Jeanette (Ed) Block of Vashon, WA, Bob Heiser of Green Bay, Rick (Barb) Heiser of Waupaca, Sue Heiser of NC; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Dickmann; and brother-in-law, Chuck Heiser.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, June 25, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Town of Dover, WI, followed by full military honors.
