Surrounded by her loving family, Dorothy A. Lossin, age 76, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2010, at Wheaton-Franciscan All Saints Medical Center. Dorothy was born in Racine November 12, 1933, daughter of the late Herman and Margaret (nee: Jurewich) Peterson.
Dorothy was a proud graduate of St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1951.” In 1956 she fell in love with and married “Mickey” Edward J. Lossin who preceded her in death, May 17, 1998. They enjoyed forty-one years of devoted love to one another. Throughout their lives, Dorothy and Mickey befriended all and were generous to those in need.
Dorothy will be truly missed but so lovingly remembered by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Tony and Gloria Peterson, Edward Peterson, Dan and Donna Peterson; nieces and nephews, Steven Miller, David Miller, Eric (Jenny) Peterson, Christian (Bonnie)Peterson, Lonnie (Tina) Peterson, Gina (Bob) Rendick, Frances Peterson, and Angela Peterson (Edward) Adams; many great nieces and great-nephews. Also very extended family of Jackson V. Parker and Mary Ann Staupe and Aunties Little loved ones, Jackie and Mary Parker, and all of her dear friends at the Imperial Apartments, especially DeeDee.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Richard Catholic Church, 1503 Grand Ave., Monday September 27, 2010, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Ronald J. Gramza officiating. Private interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Catherine’s High School have been suggested.
