Ruth J. Botting, age 82, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at Wheaton-Franciscan All Saints Medical Center. Ruth was born in Racine, July 30, 1928, daughter of the late Thomas and Alice (Nee: Sietz) Mansell.
Ruth attended Sacred Heart Grade School and graduated from William Horlick High School “Class of 1946.” On November 12, 1949, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Richard “Dick” Botting who preceded her in death, February 13, 1995. Ruth enjoyed bowling and playing cards. Above all she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her three children, Jackie (Bill) Wendlandt of Iola, WI, Tim (Julaine) Botting of Manawa, WI, Curt (Kathy) Botting of Franksville, WI; her grandchildren, Thomas (Irene) Botting of Oconto Falls, WI, Daniel Botting and friend, Betsy of Manawa, WI, Ruth Wendlandt of San Francisco, CA, Sarah Wendlandt of Milwaukee, WI, Cody Botting of Franklin, WI, Curtis Botting of LaCrosse, WI; her two great-grandchildren, Cashtyn Botting and Bryce Bartel; sister, Irene (Carl) Hunter of Racine; sister-in-law, Mrs. Robert (Geraldine) Botting of Racine; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her grandson, Eric Botting.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, September 11, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring St., with Rev. William J. Dietzler officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the church from 9 a.m. until time of Mass at 10:30 a.m.
