Frank M. Teigland, 80, passed away suddenly at WFH- All Saints on September 15, 2010.
Frank was born in Racine on December 7, 1929, to the late Ingebrit and Fredrikka (nee: Hansen) Teigland and lived his whole life in Racine. In 1951, he was united in marriage to Shirley Kirkendoll.
Frank proudly served his country in the Navy before his discharge in 1953. He was the owner of Frank’s Barber Shop (3015 Washington Ave.) for over 50 years before his retirement. He enjoyed music, especially “Big Band,” and played the trumpet. He also loved fishing, going up north to Wild Rose and to Branson, MO. He was also a member of the German Club.
Frank will be dearly missed by his wife of 59 years, Shirley; daughter, Cindy (Jim) Rewald; son, Scott (Cheryl) Teigland; grandchildren, Stacey (Louis) Papas, Kelly Zanis, Scott Teigland, Heather Teigland; a niece, Susan Jacobson; great-grandchildren, Kailey and Ryder Papas, and soon to be born Madyson Skyy. Numerous friends also survive. Frank was preceded in death by a brother, Ingolf Teigland; and a sister, Evelyn Gusler.
Funeral services in memory of Frank will be held at the funeral home on September 19, 2010, at 6 p.m. Relatives and friends may meet the family from 3 p.m. until the time of service. Private entombment will take place at Graceland Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to one’s favorite charity.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Howard Short and Karen Murillo for their support, as well as the nurses on the Cardiac wing and ICU at WFH- All Saints.
