Joyce D. Cremer, age 85, passed away Monday, March 11, 2013, at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center. Joyce was born in Racine, September 15, 1927, daughter of the late George and Cecelia (Nee: Adams) Andersen.
On May 17, 1947, at Holy Name Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Richard E. Cremer, who preceded her in death on April 11, 1977. Joyce was an active and devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she belonged to Christian Mothers, was a member of the Mission Circle, and a frequent volunteer at the church. In her younger years she was involved as a Den mother and enjoyed golfing. Most recently she enjoyed attending aquasize. Most importantly, she adored and treasured time with her family and will be fondly remembered as the most wonderful homemaker and loving mother to her seven children. She will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her seven children, Linda (Rich) Stearns, Ken Cremer, Judith (Paul) Wolfman, Rick Cremer, Nanci Cremer (Michael Bowman), Barbara (Chuck) Angus, David Cremer (Maria Femia); her eleven grandchildren, Jared (Erin) Offner, Megan Offner, Jessica Cremer, Jacob Cremer, Rebekah (Adam) Goldberg, Laura Wolfman (fiancé, Michael Hirshberg), Lindsay Wolfman, Corrin (Aaron) Moscowicz, John Cremer, Jennifer Angus, Michael Angus (Heather Coleman); six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dorothy Andersen; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Christopher Angus; and brother, Jim Andersen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 18, 2013, at 10 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Ave., with Rev Ricardo Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Kinzie Avenue. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Sunday at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. and Monday at church from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 10 a.m. Memorials to Sacred Heart Catholic Church have been suggested.
