Regina “Gina” Montgomery, age 66, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at her residence. Gina was born in Germany on July 9, 1946, daughter of the late Janis and Tamara (Nee: Nasimova) Mazelis.
On January 23, 1971, she was united in marriage to Donald R. Montgomery, who preceded her in death on February 12, 2011. Gina taught at Central High School in Kenosha for many years, retiring in 2007. She was a member of St. Richard Catholic Church. She was an avid reader. More than anything, Gina cherished time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.
She was the proud mother of Heather (Randy) Elliott and Debra A. Montgomery; the adoring grandmother of Cole, Riley and Nolan Elliott, Gwyneth, Connor and Lucas Monroe; brother, Janis G. Mazelis; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, March 25, 2013, at 6 p.m. at St. Richard’s Catholic Church, 1503 Grand Ave., with Reverend Ron Gramza officiating. Relatives and friends may meet Monday at the church from 4 p.m. until time of Mass at 6 p.m. Private entombment will be held at the Southern Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Town of Dover. Memorials to St. Richard’s Catholic Church have been suggested.
