Lucille M. Rotes, age 83, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2010, at Ridgewood Care Center. She was born in Racine on December 19, 1926, daughter of the late Thomas and Ann (Nee: Devine) Gavahan.
On September 27, 1947, Lucille was united in marriage to William Rotes who preceded her in death in 1998. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Friends of Seniors. She also belonged to the Sixth Marine Corp Division Auxiliary. She was loved dearly and will be sadly missed.
Surviving are her children, James (Cindy) Rotes of Racine, Michael Rotes of Jacksonville, FL, Carol Bulik of Jacksonville, FL, Kathleen (David) Possing of Hokah, MN, and Barbara Lesnik of Kenosha; eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren; sisters, Rita Brinkman and Kathleen Carreno; sister-in-law, Margaret Gavahan; brother-in-law, Ludwig Kotnik; nieces, nephews other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she also was preceded in death by her daughter, Peggy Rotes; brothers, John (Emily) and Robert Gavahan; sister Marjorie Kotnik; and brother-in-law, John Brinkman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 16, 2010, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1533 Erie St., with Rev. John D. Aiello officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy. 32. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with family on Monday at church from 9:30 until time of Mass. Memorials to St. Joseph Home and School Assn. have been suggested by the family.
