William M. Hawkins, “Willie”, age 92, passed away Thursday, August 5, 2010, at Rollings Hills Rehabilitation Center in Sparta. He was born in Eyebrow, Saskatchewan, Canada, August 23, 1918, son of the late David and Ida (Nee: Lunden) Hawkins.
Willie was an abled bodied seaman and served in the Merchant Marines during WWII. Following the war in 1947 he was united in marriage to Lucy Kasabian who preceded him in death in 2002. William had been employed at Jacobson Textron for 30 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his sons, William J. Hawkins and fiancée Stormy Dodge of Racine, and Wade (Cindy) Hawkins of Merrillan, WI; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Norman; sisters, Doris and Clareen; other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lynn C. Marema, in 2005; a sister, Vivian; and brothers, Raynold and George.
A Memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, August 12, 2010, at 2 p.m. with Reverend Pam Kerschner officiating. Relatives and friends may meet Thursday at the funeral home from noon until time of service.

My thoughts go out to the whole family. I'm Lynn's friend Debbie (DeGroot) Abell. I miss Lynn everyday, as I know you do, too.
