Rachel Mary Keilholz, 69 of Racine, WI passed away August 31, 2010, at her residence.
Rachel was born July 17, 1941, in Racine, WI, to the late Walter and Mary Johnson.
She earned her nursing degree and retired from St. Lukes Hospital in 2006 after 35 years of service. Rachel was an animal lover who could never turn away a stray, and many found comfort and a good meal on her front porch. She also enjoyed gardening, thrift shops, traveling and watching the Green Bay Packers. More than anything Rachel loved being with her family where it was always a good time with plenty of laughs.
Rachel is survived by her husband, Richard Heffel; her children Michael (Marnie) Keilholz of Chippewa Falls, Patrick Keilholz, Amy (Steve) Munoz of Racine, Christopher Keilholz of Grafton, Nathan (Marlene) Keilholz of Franksville; eleven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She is further survived by one sister, Barbara Larson of Las Vegas; her brothers, Dale (Ruthie) Johnson of Virginia, Steve (Laura) Johnson and Tom (Carol) Johnson of Racine, David (Amy) Johnson of Monroe; many very dear nieces and nephews and her very best friend, Leanne DeWeerd of Waterford. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Mary; and her sister, Katie.
At her request no service will be held.
The family wishes to thank the ninth floor cancer care staff at Froedtert Hospital.
