Lydia J. Oszuscik, age 90, passed away peacefully on Friday June 7, 2013, at Franciscan Villa in South Milwaukee. Lydia was born in Racine on March 30, 1923, daughter of the late Joseph and Lydia (nee: Sladky) Simonds.
On August 10, 1957, at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, Lydia was united in marriage to the love of her life, Paul J. Oszuscik. She shared twenty-eight beautiful years with Paul before he preceded her in death on November 18, 1985. Lydia will be best remembered for her love and dedication to her family, and will be dearly missed.
Dear mother of Michael (Susan) Oszuscik of Franklin, Edward (Charlene) Oszuscik of Racine; beloved grandmother of Michael Oszuscik Jr. and Stacy Lynn Oszuscik. Lydia is also survived by her dear sister, Frances Wallace; brothers, Ambrose (Lois) Simonds and Paul (Patricia) Simonds; brother-in-law, Fred Rosenbaum; special nieces, Barb Caminiti and Margaret Kikorian and many more dear nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Lydia was also preceded in death by her siblings, Henry Simonds, Helen Stefferud, Mary Lemke, Anna Thurke and Cecilia Rosenbaum.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, 1903 Green St., on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Don Zerkel officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Monday at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of Mass.
