Kenosha -- Walter Raymond Novak, “Wally,” age 72, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at United Hospital Systems in Kenosha. He was born in Racine on May 20, 1941, son of the late Walter M. and Bernice (Nee: Knippel) Novak.
Wally graduated from Washington Park High School “Class of 1959.” He served in the U.S. Army stationed in Korea and here in the United States. On October 2, 1965, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Racine, he married the love of his life, Catherine L. McIntyre. He is survived by Catherine; his sister, Kathleen Barth; and many other family members. Wally had been employed at various shops through his career and retired from Grove Gear. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. He enjoyed a good bingo game and basically anything that he could do together with his wife and family. He will be dearly missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 4816 7th Ave., Kenosha, on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at 11 a.m. with Reverend Sean Granger officiating. Relatives and friends may meet Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of Mass. Interment with full military honors will be held at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
