Mrs. Rongland and her husband lived in Racine and she worked at Western Printing, retiring in 1972. They moved to Union Grove in 1961 and she was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church.
Lorane’s love of family was her number one priority. She was an inspiration and role model for her entire family. After retiring, she enjoyed taking her friends to appointments and shopping. She loved to travel and work in her flower garden. Lorane loved to bake for her family. She enjoyed crocheting afghans for her family as wedding and graduation gifts. She made over 30 afghans for her family; every stitch made with love.
Lorane is survived by three daughters, Nancy (Dean) Wahl of Rhinelander, Joan (David) Bendtsen of Lodi and Dorothy Frizgerald of Baraboo; eight grandchildren, Darlene, Linda, Shelli, Dan, Sandra, Bridgette, Briana and Joanna; 16 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Marietta Schopf; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar; two brothers, Dave and Michael; and three sisters, Josephine, Jean and Sis.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 3320 S. Colonial Ave. (Hwy. 45), Union Grove on Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at 1 p.m. with Father Howard Haase officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to “Leader Dog for the Blind.”
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Clare Meadows Care Center and Home Health United Hospice for all their kind care and concern.
