STEVENS POINT -- Mary M. Kish, 89, passed away at her daughter's home in the Town of Bevent, Marathon County, on Thursday, April 22, 2010. Mary was born on June 26, 1920, in Ellwood City, PA, to the late Christopher and Jessie Haswell. She spent part of her youth in Pennsylvania and later moved to Clinton, Iowa, with her family. As a young woman she moved to Racine, where she met and married Joseph Kish on September 27, 1936. Joseph preceded her in death October 3, 1999.
Mary worked for Walker Mfg. during WWII and then Western Publishing. Following retirement she worked in catering at Wingspread. She was a former member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Mary enjoyed traveling and camping with her husband and family.
Survivors include three children, Rose Rasmussen of Rosholt, Joseph (Susan Marie) Kish of Racine and Curtis (Judy) Kish of Sturtevant. She is further survived by nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, nine sisters and son-in-law, Keith Rasmussen.
Funeral services will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at 11 a.m. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will take place at the funeral home on Monday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of service .
