Mary J. Johnson, age 76, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2010, in Sun City, AZ, after incurring a short bout with cancer. Mary was born in Racine, July 18, 1933, daughter of the late Roy and Florence (Nee: Westerfield) Acklam.
Mary was united in marriage to John E. Johnson, who preceded her in death December of 1982. In her earlier years Mary was employed by Oster Manufacturing and she retired from Dremel Manufacturing after many years of employment. Upon retirement she and her husband relocated to Sun City, Arizona, where they basked in the warmth and sunshine. Mary’s pastimes included golfing, country western dancing, and “garage sailing.” Above all, she was devoted to her family and will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her children, Paul “Dutch” Johnson of Sun City, AZ, Cindy Hughes of Kenosha, John Johnson of Racine; her grandchildren, Julie (Peter) Ortiz, Daniel (Samantha) Johnson, Debbie (Bobby) Christensen, Don Johnson; six great-grandchildren; sister, Beverly Ferguson of Whitewater, WI; sister-in-law, Hilda Rognsvoog of Racine; dear longtime companion, Oscar “Oz” Bjorna of Sun City, AZ; “her little sister,” Betty Mozol of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Per Mary’s wishes private family services were held.
