William E. Hile Jr., 70, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center.
He was born in Evanston, IL, on Oct. 11, 1940, to the late William E. and June (nee: Robinson) Hile, Sr. He lived his early years in Barrington, IL. He was very involved in scouting. He graduated from Barrington High School where he played in the high school band. He was an undergraduate at Purdue University and received his MBA from Michigan. On Dec. 10, 1988, he was united in marriage to the former Nell J. Rasmussen. He was employed at the Marshfield Clinic as an SAS computer programmer retiring in 2003.
Mr. Hile was an avid reader and lifelong Republican. He was an accomplished trombonist, and marched and played in the Purdue marching band. He was a very kind and helpful person. He was a family man but, most importantly, he was a devoted husband and caregiver to his wife. He also loved his dog, Candy.
Bill is survived by his wife, Nell Hile; one daughter, Andrea (Justin) Rucks; two step-daughters, Linda (Rick) Maroda, Pam (Steve) Miller; eight grandchildren, Rob (Jenny) Long, Tanya (Dwayne) Kittell, Jenny (Bryan) Darr, Heather (Marko) Stanosevic, Josh Maroda, Ashley Miller, Gregory Rucks, Genevieve Rucks; thirteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Henry (Bernita) Hile, one sister-in-law, Melody Hile; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Peter Hile.
A memorial service will be held at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center in the Fireside Room, 1700 C. A. Becker Drive, on December 29, 2010, at 6 p.m. Relatives and friends may meet with the family from 5 until the ceremony.
