Barbara E. Neibaur, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center, Milwaukee, WI, due to complications of pneumonia. Barbara was born in Racine on April 5, 1936, daughter of the late Mason and Stella (Nee: Turkowski) Lesniewski.
Barbara was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1954” where she was a gifted athlete and excelled in basketball. On January 11, 1964, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Richard “Huntz” W. Neibaur who preceded her in death on June 14, 1999. Barbara was a dedicated member and daily attendee of St. Joseph Catholic Church. In Barb’s earlier years she was a basketball referee. She enjoyed attending church festivals, playing bingo, the lottery Pick 3, number 777, bowling, and listening to the radio cheering on the Bears (WBBM) and the Cubs (WGN). She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her children, Diane (Scott) Ryan of Racine, Carol (Bob) Veltus of Kaukauna; five grandsons, Josh and Jordan, Joe, Brandon and Cory; sister, Patricia “Patsy” (Jack) Rammelt; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Donnie Neibaur, Gretchen Neibaur; dear aunt, Marceline “Mickie” Turkowski; special cousin, Geri Urban; nieces, nephews, other relatives, many dear friends and caregivers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Mason “Nonnie” Lesniewski; and three special uncles, Hank, Stanley and Casimir Turkowski.
In keeping with Barb’s wishes, private services will be held. In lieu of flowers, please have a Mass of Intentions said in Barb’s name at one’s own choice of parish.
