Mt. Pleasant -- David P. Olson, 53, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, January 8, 2012, at his residence.
David was born in Racine to Glenn N. and Shirley (nee: Krohn) Olson on March 8, 1958. A lifelong resident of Racine, he was a graduate of Case High School and earned a B.S. in Economics from UW-Parkside. He was employed by Toledo Scale and Calvary Memorial Church.
David was an avid motorcycle rider and owned his own Harley. He also loved travel, including taking five trips to Israel and many shorter trips to cities all over the United States.
David will be dearly missed by his mother, Shirley; sister, Susan Olson of Racine; brother, Jonathan (Becky) Olson of Union Grove; nephews, Jeffrey (Melissa) of Grand Blanc, MI, and Daniel of Santa Monica, CA; great-nephew and niece, Christopher and Lindsey; special friends, Mark and Jan Olander; as well as numerous cousins and extended families.
Funeral services in honor of David will be held at Calvary Memorial Church, 4001 Washington Ave., on Thursday, January 12, 2012, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Nathan James officiating. Private interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to the Gideon’s or to Calvary Memorial Church Missions Committee.
