Mary J. Casciaro, age 88, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2012, at Ridgewood Care Center. Mary was born in Racine, March 15, 1923, to George and Francis (Nee: Krall) Flezno.
Mary worked on the family farm in her early years with her three sisters. On November 28, 1947, she was united in marriage to Frank G. Casciaro and raised her family in Racine and then Sturtevant, where she made a home for her husband and three children.
Mary loved sewing, gardening and arts and crafts. In her home each meal was a homemade collaboration, sitting down to supper at 5 p.m. every day. She retired from Sears and enjoyed card clubs with friends and family. She enjoyed gambling trips with her adoring husband, Frank. She was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church. Above all, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank; her daughter, Kathy; sisters, Ann Seiter and Clara (Gene) Wells; sisters-in-law, Caroline Gordon and Virginia (Santo “Sam”) Totero. She is survived by her two sons, George Casciaro of Waupaca, WI, Thomas Casciaro of Sturtevant, WI; her granddaughter, Gina Bugni of Sturtevant, who helped immensely in caring for Mary; five other grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; sister, Irene (Gene) Griffin of Stuart, FL; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Angelo (Nancy) Casciaro; nieces, nephews, her beloved schnauzers and Ceasar, her cat; other relatives and many dear friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 4, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 3126 95th St., with Rev Paul L. Raczynski officiating. Private interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 10:30 a.m.
