Harvey R. Larson

Harvey R. Larson, age 92, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at Zilber Family Hospice, Wauwatosa, WI. Harvey was born in Racine on December 22, 1919, son of the late Clarence and Ella (Nee: Anderson) Larson.

Harvey graduated from UW-Whitewater with a degree in teaching, furthered his education at Marquette University studying dentistry, and obtained a degree in pharmacy from UW-Madison. On November 22, 1969, at Trinity United Methodist Church, he was united in marriage to LaVina E. Kenyon. He was currently an active member of Faith United Methodist Church. Harvey was employed as a pharmacist by St. Mary’s Medical Center for many years. After retiring from the hospital he continued to work well up in his 80s at several pharmacies in Racine including: Kies, Northside, Canteen and Roeshen’s.

Survivors include his loving wife LaVina of forty-three years; his children, Carol (Phillip) Daceno of Racine, Karen (Peter) Luxem of San Diego, CA; his grandchildren, Wendy (Ron) Schulz of Racine, Joseph (Cindy) Luxem of Bethell, WA; his three great-grandchildren, Natalie, Kelly and Jacob; brother-in-law, Richard (Jodi) Kenyon of CO; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ray C. (Elizabeth) Larson; and nephew, Grant Larson.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 27, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church, 1013 Harmony Drive, with Rev. Listowel Ayensu-Mensah officiating. Entombment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Sunday from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. and Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Memorials to Faith United Methodist Church, Aurora VNA Zilber Family Hospice, 1155 Honey Creek Parkway, Wauwatosa, WI 53213, or to one’s favorite charity have been suggested.
