With his loving family by his side, William H. Roberts, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, August 27, 2012, at his residence. He was born in Laona, WI, on November 16, 1943, son of the late James and Myrle (Nee: Layman) Roberts. William was united in marriage to Nolla Etzel on May 24, 1969, and again on October 3, 2001.
Survivors include his children, William (Sarah) Roberts of Baltimore, MD, Gordon (Jaclyn) Roberts, Catherine (Ernesto) Trevino, all of Racine; his six grandchildren, Sabrina and Amber Roberts, Zoie and Hazzel Roberts, Luke and Kayla Trevino; other relatives and dear friends. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening, yard work and his beloved dog, Toby. Most of all he cherished time with his family. He will be dearly missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, September 1, 2012, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Rita Catholic Church, 4339 Douglas Ave., with Rev. Kevin Mullins O.S.A. officiating. Private interment will be held. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Saturday at the church from 9 a.m. until time of Mass at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission or St. Rita Catholic Church, or to St. Vincent De Paul Society have been suggested.
