Louise Parker, age 99, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center on Thursday, August 16, 2012. Louise was born in Atlanta, GA, on August 5, 1913, daughter of the late James and Lulu (nee: Ramsey) Estes.
On October 31, 1937, in Lynchburg, VA, Louise was united in marriage to Thomas L. Parker, who preceded her in death in May of 1978. Louise was a longtime dedicated member of the First United Methodist Church, where she was active in the kitchen, women’s society and civic groups. She also was a member and past grand Counselor of the U.C.T. Auxiliary. Louise had a vast Coca Cola collection dating back to her roots in Atlanta, and could trace her love of traveling by car back to her first ride in her pale blue coupe. Louise will be best remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and dear friend to all. She will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her loving family; daughter, Gwenn (William) Pfeiffer of Racine; grandchildren, Susan L. Pfeiffer of Seattle, WA, William T. Pfeiffer of Columbus, OH; godchild, Gary Kebbekus of Wauwatosa; her faithful dog, Cricket; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Louise was preceded in death by eleven siblings.
Memorial services will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 745 Main St., on Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Brad Van Fossen officiating. Private interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Memorials to the First United Methodist Church or to the Wisconsin Talking Book and Braille library, 813 W. Wells St., Milwaukee, WI 53233-1436 have been suggested.
