Dorothy A. Nelson, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at the Becker-Shoop Center. Dorothy was born in Racine on November 10, 1930, daughter of the late Henry and Emily (Nee: Hort) Hahneman.
Dorothy was employed by Western Publishing for twenty-one years. She was a member of Evangelical United Methodist Church. She will be remembered for making many beautifully crocheted creations. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her children, Debra (Charles) Klimek, Allan Nelson; her granddaughter, Amy Klimek (fiance, Ken Klassy); other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Marion “Penny” (Andrew) Schnetter; and former husband, Paul L. Nelson.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. John Fleming officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
