Sarah (Denoto) Shoop

Sarah Shoop, age 91, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2013, at Ridgewood Care Center.  Sarah was born in Racine on April 13, 1922, daughter of the late John and Catrina (Nee:  Portuase) Giandinoto and was a lifelong resident.

Sarah graduated from William Horlick High School “Class of 1940.”  On April 19, 1947, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to Leo G. Shoop, who preceded her in death on November 21, 2005.  An interior designer, Sarah owned and operated, Interiors by Stephani for over thirty years.  She enjoyed tending to her yard, but most of all cherished time entertaining, cooking and baking for her family.  She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her brother, Frank Denoto; former sister-in-law, Sue Denoto; loving nieces and nephews, Katie (Tom) James, Mary Reimer, Sara Denoto (Cliff) Kniesly, Mario (Shawn) Denoto, Kathy (Rick) Jones, Annette Denoto, Tom Denoto; grand-nieces and nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Vivian Crispino; and brothers, Joseph and Gasper Denoto.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring St., with Rev. Terrance J. Huebner officiating.  Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m.  until time of service at 11 a.m.
