John L. Martin

John L. Martin, age 55, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2013, at his residence. John was born in Racine on January 6, 1958, son of the late Hargis and Eula B. (Nee: Rockette) Martin.

He was employed at SC Johnson Wax for many years. John dearly loved his family, and enjoyed fishing and bible Christian studies. He will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his son, Keenan Payne; sister, Bonnie (Bennie) Wadlington; brother, William (Jestina) Martin; nieces and nephews, Bennie Wadlington Jr., Lashonda Martin, Deondre Wadlington, Deangelo Jackson; special uncles and aunties, Bishop Martin, Betty Lott, Ruby Moore; special cousin, Davis Martin; special friends, Annette Payne, Bobbie Hill; aunts, uncles, host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Regina Martin.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the Midtown Church of Christ, 1704 13th St., with Brother Michael Moore officiating. Private interment will be held. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the church from noon  until time of service at 1 p.m.
