Jerome “Jerry” Q. Sand, age 95, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2013, at his residence. Jerome was born in Racine on July 8, 1918, son of the late Fredrick N. and Alice A. (Nee: Kaltenschnee) Sand.
Jerry proudly served in the United States Army. On November 28, 1951, he was united in marriage to Mary M. Francis. Jerry was employed by Racine Steel Castings for thirty-three years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and spending time with his family vacationing up north. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed.
Survivors include his loving wife, Mary; his daughter, Kelli A. Sand of Racine; his grandchildren, Jennifer Noe, Daniel Noe and Michael Noe; sister-in-law, Helen Brien; other relatives and many dear friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 26, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Ave., with Rev. Ricardo Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m.
