Derek S. VanKoningsveld

Derek S. VanKoningsveld, age 24, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2014, due to a motorcycle accident. Derek was born in Racine on June 28, 1990, son of Dennis and Kathleen (Nee: Larson) VanKoningsveld.

He attended Washington Park High School. Derek loved motorcycles, raising fish and live corral, and listening to all types of music. An avid Chicago Bears fan, he was also was a big supporter of the Relentless Family. Derek was very loyal and loving to his family and friends and will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his two daughters, Nevaeh and Nora; his parents, Dennis and Kathleen VanKoningsveld; sister, Ranelle (Glen) Cieske; brothers, Richard (Tracy) VanKoningsveld, John VanKoningsveld; nieces and nephews, Tony, Ryan, Brandon, Nathan, Ashley, Trysten and Natalie; two great-nieces, Sophia and Skylar; aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2014, at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Derek’s friend, Rev. Myron H. Tucker, officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Thursday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family have been suggested.
