Edmond Collins Jr., age 94, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2014, at the Lawlis Family Hospice, Mequon, WI. He was born in Racine, WI, on March 27, 1920, to Edmund and Esther (Nelson) Collins.
Edmond graduated from Washington Park High School in 1940 and married Eleanor Meredith on February 7, 1942 at Holy Innocents Church. He served in the United States Army during World War II as a paratrooper. Edmond was employed by In-Sink-Erator as a plant superintendent until he retired in 1983. After retirement, he spent summers at Kangaroo Lake in Baileys Harbor, WI, and winters in Apache Junction, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his parents and loving wife Eleanor of 69 years.
Survivors include his daughters, Lynne (Don) Berg of Shorewood, WI, and Diane Stinehart of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Erica (Dan) Polly of Madison, WI, and Kristen (Ryan) Miller of Glendale, WI; great-grandchildren, Gabe and Kaylie Polly and Evan Miller; sister, Geraldine (Allen) Hanson of Racine, WI; and brother-in-law, Tony (Linda) Meredith of Racine, WI; as well as nieces, nephews and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at a future date and will be announced.
